When I am Weak

When I am Weak

9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
  2 Corinthians 12:9,10
The  human mind cannot fathom being strong when weak. Society measures strength by physical traits and mental ability. God does not. He measures strength by our willingness to say we are nothing without him. He gives us true strength. The kind that does not fade with age. The kind that is made in eternity. The kind that allows us to conquer self. The kind that allows us to turn the other cheek. He reminds us that his strength is made perfect in what society calls strength but is truly weakness. What better way to learn humility than in suffering for our lord as Paul did. To say as he said I take pleasures in infirmities...in persecutions.......for when I am weak, then am I strong.
