What is Death?
Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ out Lord.
This is my topic passage all other passages will attempt to prove this text.
 
The Living Man/Soul
Genesis 2:7 – The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. 
Genesis 3:19 – For thou art dust and unto dust shalt thou return.  This text proves that man will return to dust or the ground.
 
How Did We Come To Know Sin?
We know what sin is because of the law that God wrote to Moses on the Mount Sinai to give to the people. (Old Covenant) {Exodus 20}.
Romans 7:7 – What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
Ezekiel 18 – This chapter speaks about the unrighteous and ungodly things which will make the soul die.
·         Defiled his neighbor wife
·         Hath not come near a monstrous woman
·         Lifted his eyes to the houses of idols
 
The Result of Sin
Ezekiel 18: 4 - The soul that sinneth, it shall die.
 
Death/Sleep
When people died they go their graves and await the resurrection, they did not go directly to heaven or hell.
John 5: 28-30 - 28Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
 29And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Question: If the dead, all the dead (good and evil) are awaiting the voice of Christ how can they be in heaven or hell?
Sleep Text
Psalm 13:3 - Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death.
Job 7:21 - And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away my iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.
Acts 7:59-60 - 59And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.  60And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
John 11:11 - These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

Many people say the Luke 23:43 shows that when you die you go straight to heaven (Verily, I say to thee today Thou shalt be with me in paradise). However, John 20: 17 states Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. This text proves that Christ did not go directly heaven.
 
Hell
Matthew 25:41 - Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.
This text proves the God created hell for the Devil and his evil angels.
In Matthew 5:29-30 & Mark 9:43-47, thy whole body should be cast into hell. 
This text shows that the whole body will perish in hell not just the soul.
 
The Eternal Fire
Jude 1:7 - Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Is this fire still burning now? This example, shows us that we will be burn for ever and ever.
Lam 4:6 - For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.
Sodom was destroyed by the eternal fire in a moment..
Peter 2:6 - And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
Sodom and Gormorrha was left in ashes from the eternal fire.
Malachi 4:3 -  And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
The wicked and those who lived for Satan shall be ashes not living eternally in hell.
